2002 Winners

I would like to thank all students, teachers, parents, sponsors, judges, St. Margaret and McNeese Honor's College Students, Special Awards organizations and businesses, and Region 5 Science Fair Staff for helping to make this one of the most successful science fairs in recent memory. I saw many areas that need improvement. We will strive to make next year's fair trouble free and mistake free. Next year's goal - Bigger and Better! This is, after all, "A New Beginning." The 2002 Louisiana Region 5 Science & Engineering Fair had 301 registered entries from 53 schools in 6 parishes – Calcasieu, Cameron, Allen, Beauregard, Jefferson Davis, and Vernon. Below is the winners list. Overall Fair Winner gets an automatic bid to the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair in Louisville, Ky. in May. First, second, and third place winners in the Senior and Junior divisions progress onto state competition at the Louisiana Science & Engineering Fair in Baton Rouge, La., in April.
